Match Report: Valiant VCF Femenino fall to narrow derby defeat (1-0)

The Valencia derby took place on Sunday, October 10th at the Levante UD Training Ground at 11 am kick-off time on Matchday 6 of Primera Iberdrola. 

VCF Femenino had a good start to the derby looking to hit their neighbours on the break while the opposition were playing possession football in an even derby game over the quarter hour mark.   

Ángel Villacampa’s side tried to make inroads down the left flank through Alharilla. Esther resolutely stopping the Levante UD skipper with a solid defensive performance from VCFF’s number 15.

Both sides tried to break the deadlock from set pieces, albeit Enith pulled off a last-ditch stop to deny Gio on 34 minutes following a driving run from the Brazilian.

The home side grew into the game going into the last ten minutes of the first half and Redondo made it 1-0 to Levante UD Femenino on 46 minutes.  VCF Femenino trailed the crosstown opposition at interval.

Levante UD Femenino kicked it up a gear in the second half as VCF Femenino were trying to find a foothold in the game.

Paraluta denied Čonč who enjoyed an effort inside the post over the hour mark as VCF Femenino grew in confidence.

Minutes later, Salmi had a powerful left footed effort whistling over the crossbar as VCF Femenino were pushing high up the pitch and bringing menace in the final third.

Despite Valencia CF Femenino’s competitive showing the scoreline remained unchanged.
